My little brother sent me this song super late last night. And I stared at my white ceiling listening to it. It brought a lot of things back.
All these little moments where I felt like someone was good to me came loose, and the lyrics spoke to me.
Leaving people behind in your life is gut wrenching. Pushing people behind you that once made you feel whole.
I feel like this song hits all of those feelings.
"Leaving, isn't better than trying
Growing, but I'm just growing tired"
I remember feeling guilty leaving relationships because I felt that I could have tried harder to make them work. But I am...growing tired of leaving people.....and being left.
There's a growing fear, that because so much hasn't worked out, that it never will. (never thought I would say that as a twenty year old)
"Now I'm worried for my soul
And I'm still scared of growing oldYou were good to me
You were good to me, yeah
And I'm so used to letting go
But I don't wanna be alone
You were good to me"
A fear that maybe all the times I left someone....I could have tried harder and it would have worked.
Maybe I am the one at fault all this time.
I am sure I am not the only one that has felt this way.
Love sucks.
Some people just get it easy, it just comes to them the first try.
and some people have to struggle through it.
I have decided that I am one of many that was meant to struggle with dating and love. It wasn't meant to come easy for me and instead of being upset about it I need to be grateful.
I often think of the quote "I am thankful for my struggle, because without it, I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength." My trials have made me strong, and molded me closer to the person I truly am.
Every guy I have gone through has reminded me what I loved about myself, and what I don't love.
Maybe every person I date from now on is a stepping stone to the person I truly am, and the person I will spend the rest of my life with.
Just because they were good to me, doesn't mean they were made for me.
God has bigger plans for me.
Until next time...
